My name is Rachel Sanborn and I am so excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher! I am a Michigan State University graduate in Elementary Education. I've had a plethora of experience with children and education beginning in 2014 and had the wonderful opportunity to complete a full year of student teaching at Cornell Elementary School in Okemos, MI. In 2019, I joined the Knapp Forest Elementary Family and I can attest that it is a wonderful place! Not only is your child entering a school with rigorous academics, but they are also entering a school with rigorous play and love. I am so excited for your child to join this community of learners!
This year will help your child gain the building blocks that will support them throughout their many future years of schooling. Your child will gain the confidence in the alphabet, grow their knowledge of numbers, inquire concepts as mini-scientists, and grow as respectful and responsible members of a community. Feel free to explore the "Curriculum" tab to read about more specifics learning objectives we will cover this year. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! |
